The Champions Cup Series Cheer & Dance events are all about the competition. It’s back to the basics . . . No smoke, no mirrors! We will keep our registration fees affordable and provide a quality competition every time! By combining our event expertise with old fashioned values and high standards, it is our goal to provide a fun, first class, contemporary competition where all participants can share in a great competition experience. You will not want to miss being part of the excitement!

  • Challenges (Regional) and Championships (National) competitions with no qualification – all teams and all levels welcome at all events.

  • Olympic style Awards ceremonies – All teams and team members will participate in an Olympic style awards ceremony. For Championships events all teams will receive a team award and all participants will receive a medal on the awards stand. Level Champions will be named for each level of competition.

Competition Guidelines

ALL-STAR – Teams formed for the primary purpose of competition and are not part of a school team or provide support for any sport. Teams represent a private gym or studio and are coached by paid professionals.

  • No minimum time requirements
  • Two minutes and thirty seconds (2:30) maximum time limit for routine
  • Entire routine (including dance, stunts, tumbling) may be choreographed to music
  • May perform to a combination of cheer and music with no deduction
  • Minimum of four (4) eight counts of dance in the routine
  • The following props are permitted: signs, megaphones, flags, banners and poms
  • Champions Cup Series Safety Rules apply to all routines. (Exceptions to rules only upon submission of official inquiry – see Rule Interpretation or Difficulty Evaluation)

SCHOOL – Teams where members attend and represent a state recognized school where squads are formed to support school athletics or official school competition teams.

  • No minimum time requirements
  • Two minutes and thirty seconds (2:30) maximum time limit for routine
  • Minimum of four (4) eight counts of dance in the routine
  • Routine must include at least one cheer or chant
  • Champions Cup Series Safety Rules apply to all routines. (Exceptions to rules only upon submission of official inquiry – see Rule Interpretation or Difficulty Evaluation)

YOUTH LEAGUE/RECREATION – Community teams formed to provide support for league sports and are coached by non-paid, recreational coaches. Recreation teams formed for special performances, parades, etc. would also participate in this division.

  • No minimum time requirement
  • Two minutes and thirty seconds (2:30) maximum time limit for routine
  • Minimum of four (4) eight counts of dance in the routine
    Routine must include at least one (1) cheer or chant
  • Champions Cup Series Safety Rules apply to all routines. (Exceptions to rules only upon submission of official inquiry – see Rule Interpretation or Difficulty Evaluation)

SPECIAL OLYMPICS

  • No minimum time limit for routine
  • Two minutes and 30 seconds (2:30) maximum time limit for routine
  • Entire routine (including dance, stunts, tumbling) may be choreographed to music
  • The following props are permitted: poms, megaphones and signs
  • Champions Cup Series Safety Rules apply to all routines. (Exceptions to rules only upon submission of official inquiry – see Rule Interpretation or Difficulty Evaluation)

STUNT GROUP – maximum of 5 members

  • One minute (1:00) maximum time limit for routine
  • No cheers, chants, jumps, tumbling, dance or pyramids in the routine
  • Only one flyer in the air at one time
  • All competitors must start routine with both feet on the ground
  • Entire routine must be choreographed to music with only stunts
  • No props of any kind are permitted
  • Champions Cup Series Safety Rules apply to all routines. (Exceptions to rules only upon submission of official inquiry – see Rule Interpretation or Difficulty Evaluation)

PARTNER STUNT – maximum of 2 members

  • One minute (1:00) maximum time limit for routine
  • No cheers, chants, jumps, tumbling, dance or pyramids in the routine
  • Both competitors must start routine with both feet on the ground
  • Entire routine must be choreographed to music with only stunts
  • No props of any kind are permitted
  • Partner stunts must provide one spotter
  • Champions Cup Series Safety Rules apply to all routines. (Exceptions to rules only upon submission of official inquiry – see Rule Interpretation or Difficulty Evaluation)

TRIO/DUET/INDIVIDUAL – male or female

  • One minute and thirty seconds (1:30) maximum time limit for routine. No minimum time limit
  • Must include at least one (1) cheer, chant or sideline
  • Music may be used for entire routine or just a portion. Pre-recorded music should be low during the cheer portion so judges can hear participant’s voice
  • Routine must include a minimum of three (3) jumps and tumbling skills – standing or running
  • Must include a minimum of four (4) eight (8) counts of dance
  • Champions Cup Series Safety Rules apply to all routines. (Exceptions to rules only upon submission of official inquiry – see Rule Interpretation or Difficulty Evaluation)

BEST JUMPER – male or female

  • One minute (1:00) maximum time limit for routine
  • Must perform three (3) different jumps
  • Jumps may be performed individually or consecutively
  • One routine per participant
  • If more than 3 jumps performed only the first 3 jumps will be scored
  • Age groups follow USASF age divisions for Tiny, Mini, Youth, Junior, Senior, Open
  • Champions Cup Series Safety Rules apply to all routines. (Exceptions to rules only upon submission of official inquiry – see Rule Interpretation or Difficulty Evaluation)

BEST TUMBLER – male or female

  • One minute (1:00) maximum time limit for routine
  • Must perform 1 running tumbling pass AND 1 standing tumbling pass
  • Running tumbling pass consists of a minimum of 3 tumbling skills
  • Standing tumbling pass consists of a minimum of 2 tumbling skills
  • One routine per participant
  • Age groups follow USASF age divisions for Tiny, Mini, Youth, Junior, Senior, Open
  • There are no limitations to the difficulty of skills performed per age group, however participants will be disqualified for trying skills beyond their capabilities and/or not performing a skill safely.

SCORING – The Champions Cup series is a Varsity Scoring partner. All-Star teams will be judged using the Varsity All Star Score Sheet. General Rules & Safety Guidelines:
General rules regarding routines, music, event conduct and the current USASF level guidelines can be found at USASF Cheer Rules. If you have any questions regarding rules please email: cheer@usasfrules.com.

Divisions:
The divisions offered are compliant with USASF division guidelines. Occasionally, divisions may be split, combined or removed at the discretion of the Competition Director to promote the best competition atmosphere. In the instance of a division split, we use various unbiased, non-subjective methods (team sizes, day of registration, etc…) to divide the teams fairly into equally sized new divisions.

CHALLENGE

  • Keepsake gift for all participants
  • Challenge team medals awarded to all team members on the awards stand in an Olympic style awards ceremony
  • Challenge team awards presented to all 1st-3rd place teams in an Olympic style awards ceremony
  • Level Champion award presented to the squad with the highest added total score from all judges. One team trophy presented per level
  • Champions Cup “Overall” Team award presented to one (1) team by judges choice showing most creativity, technique, energy and performance value
  • Champions Cup “Spirit” award presented to one (1) team showing the most spirit throughout the competition

CHAMPIONSHIPS

  • Keepsake gift for all participants and coaches (up to 2 coaches per squad)
  • All 1st place teams will receive:
    • Large National team trophy
    • National Champion banner
    • National Team gold medals for each team member
    • Special Champions Cup gift for each team member
  • Each team participating receives a Champions Cup Team award based on team rankings and each team member receives a Champions Cup medal
  • Every team will participate in an Olympic style awards ceremony
    Level Champion award presented to the squad with the highest added total score from all judges. One team trophy presented per Level of competition.
  • Special Champions Cup Team Awards:
    • Champions Cup “Spirit” award presented to one (1) Cheer club/school displaying the most spirit throughout the competition
    • Champions Cup “Creative” award presented to one (1) outstanding Cheer Team
    • Champions Cup “Artistic” award presented to one (1) outstanding Dance Team
  • Grand Champions Cup awarded to the highest club/school score based on the total of the top three (3) team scores from three (3) different divisions

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Full Refund – If cancelled in writing up to six (6) weeks prior to the event
50% Refund – If cancelled in writing one (1) month prior to the event
NO Refund – If cancelled less than thirty (30) days prior to the event
